The Grading System includes the following components:
Category I – Evaluations
Students earn points in this category in the following way . . .
During the grading period students will be taking quizzes and unit tests.
Category II – Communication and Organizational Skills
Students earn points in this category by submitting the following . . .
Time Use Sheets (quote and agenda)- keeping a daily record of class activities, assignments, and upcoming deadlines. Submit on the last day of the week.
Periodicals- reading and summarizing current periodicals at 15 points each using periodical report guidelines provided at the beginning of the semester
Organized Student Folder- setting up and keeping an organized student binder worth 25 points
Category III – Marketing Skills
Students earn points in this category by completing the following . . .
Assignments- Assigned daily work. Points will vary.
Specialized Activities- projects and presentations will be introduced to students in the course points allocated for each activity will vary based on a predetermined criteria
Category IV – Professional Development
Students earn points in this category through the following activities . . .
Professional Dress Days
Leadership Activities
Leadership activities will be announced and could be as simple as participating in fundraising activities or school spirit days
students will have a chance to participate in local, state, and international DECA activities.
School Store
Working after school in the school store, “The Wigwam”, from 2:12 to 2:45 p.m. will earn students points once per month. Jan/Feb, March, April, and May.
it is important that students adhere to the “Employee Expectations of the School Store” and that they report for their scheduled shifts.
***Students who sign up to work in the store after school and do not show-up or find a replacement for their shift will not receive points and not have the opportunity to sign up again for that month.
School Store Expectations: All students returning from Marketing One have a school store expectations form on file. If you are new to the school or to the class this year, it is your responsibility to get a form signed. All students working in the store must have a form signed on file.
Cell Phones: Cell phones are not allowed to be in the classroom. If I see your cell phone, I will collect it and return it to you after class time. If a cell phone rings or causes disruption in any way, the phone will be given to administration.
Lining Up at the Door: I expect all students to use their time wisely; this means I expect you to remain seated until the bell rings. There is absolutely no lining up at the door waiting for the bell to ring. I appreciate your cooperation.
Computer Equipment Expectations: See handout discussed in class.
Behavior Expectations: Students will review behavior expectations with the teacher during the first few class periods. They will be utilized in conjunction with the Student Code of Conduct.

- Students will be graded on personal hygiene and professional attire
